Golf Digest Magazine at The 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open
Its ridiculously early on Tuesday, a practice day at The K Club and the dawn is breaking over one of the best golf parkland courses in Ireland, the venue for the Ryder Cup in 2006 is looking in fine fettle.
An integral part of the event is food and beverage services, often taken for granted, but vital to the 80,000 visitors and guests expected through the gates over the next few days at this wonderful venue. The man charged with the planning, management and delivery of the best quality food and service is already on site, and has been for a few hours before his legion of some 200, chef’s, waiters, bar tenders, hospitality hosts and mobile catering staff arrive to set up and start serving the guests. For John Coughlan, this is a normal day, one he has re-enacted thousands of times over his impressive 30-year catering career, and many times as the head of catering for the European Golf Tour and The Irish Open. Punchestown Racecourse Appoints John Coughlan Catering as new Caterer
In September 2016 the management of Punchestown Racecourse, who hold one of Ireland's leading festivals each year, appointed John Coughlan Catering as the contracted caterer for all corporate catering for the coming season.
John Coughlan commented "This is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase the best of Irish produce and service to Punchestown's thousands of customers", "We were delighted to be appointed caterer here and added to our catering service at The Curragh we feel we have secured the most prestigious racecourses to cater for in Ireland."

Troy Studios Announces New Caterer
John Coughlan Catering are proud to announce that they have been appointed as caterer for the new Troy Studios facility in Limerick. Troy Studios is a fabulous new facility film hub with 350,000 sq.ft. under one roof. 70,000 sq.ft. of sound stages with a 50ft. working height and support facilities for the stages including workshop space, props and costume space, production offices, hair and makeup rooms, dressing rooms, ample parking, a large restaurant and a 5 acre backlot.Troy, run by principals Siún Ní Raghallaigh, Ossie Kilkenny and John Kelleher, has so far maintained a discreet media profile, but Michelle Brassil said in a council issued statement that “in providing world class film studio infrastructure, Troy Studios will be the enabler for incoming productions that will seek to employ local production crews, trained to a very high standard. The studio is likely to employ 6-10 full time core staff on site, with up to 500 staff employed during production, which typically lasts 3-9 months depending on the project.
